| Synopsis: | This Strategy is a non-statutory document designed as a resource for all involved in policy, planning and management of the North West’s coast. It is intended to provide a framework for action, providing a link between policy contained in the major regional strategies and sub-regional and local-level delivery at the coast. It aims to bridge the gap between land and sea and has been prepared as a first step in integration between terrestrial and marine spatial planning but is not limited to spatial planning matters, it takes in the broader issues of effective and sustainable long-term management of this valuable geographic area and resource. It has been prepared for the region by the North West Coastal Forum and should be regarded as a regional document, rather than a solely North West Coastal Forum document. Accordingly it is important that this strategy reflects the needs and aspirations of the region as a whole, so we would welcome your comments on this consultation draft. |
