Title:Draft Brownfield Skills Strategy
Organisation:Academy for Sustainable Communities; English Partnerships
Issued:Tue 18 March 2008
Deadline: 22 May 2008
Status: OPEN Consultation is still receiving comments
Synopsis:The Draft Brownfield Skills Strategy has been developed following extensive research and consultation surrounding the barriers that prevent or hinder the reuse of brownfield land. Throughout this background work one key issue was repeatedly identified – the lack of people with ‘brownfield’ skills. The 25 recommendations are the result of joint working between English Partnerships and the Academy for Sustainable Communities. The draft strategy has four objectives:
  • Changing attitudes towards skills
  • Encouraging cross-disciplinary working
  • Raising the profile of brownfield careers
  • Promoting a common framework for skills development
