Abstract:

Introduction

The IEMA and the Ireland & UK Branch of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) were recently offered the opportunity to jointly comment on the Government’s proposals to improve the planning system set out in Planning for a Sustainable Future.

In response, both organisations identified a number of opportunities and concerns, related to both the effective safeguarding of the environment and environmental assessment practice.
