This consultation paper sets out Defra's vision of the fisheries sector in 20 years' time. Defra wants this consultation paper to move us all towards a contract for the future of marine fisheries which will:
Defra are focusing on activities in England and English waters. However, to encourage more sustainable consumption Defra has a wider interest in encouraging good management of the msrine environment. Therefore it is vital that cooperation at the English, UK and international level to stimulate change is undertaken.
