Abstract:

Businesses have a critical role to play in protecting and enhancing the environment. The U.K. Government's Sustainable Development Strategy, 'Securing the future', highlights this important role. Business should use its influence to improve on the environmental performance of its operations, supply chains and the products and services it delivers. The strategy suggests that such an improvement in these activities can deliver substantial business value.
