Synopsis:The Carbon Trust is developing a Product-related Emissions Reduction Framework. The purpose of this document is to support the continuous reduction of product life cycle GHG emissions. This is achieved by establishing the basis for robust and consistent information about reduction achievements and commitments, from which consumers, companies and other stakeholders can make purchasing and business decisions.

Synopsis:BSI are currently working with the Carbon Trust and Defra (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) to continue the development of Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 2050 for the assessment of the life cycle greenhouse gas emissions of goods and services. This consultation is the second of a broad two-stage consultation process on PAS 2050.

Synopsis:This consultation seeks views on options for implementing the requirements of Directive 2006/66/EC on Batteries and Accumulators and Waste Batteries and Accumulators in the UK. At this stage, Government are not consulting on draft Regulations. Responses to this consultation on options for implementation will inform Government decisions on the content of legislation to transpose the Directive into national law. There will be further public consultation on draft Regulations in due course.
