Practitioner Logo

Each volume in the Practitioner best practice series covers a particular environmental topic in detail. There are now 13 volumes in the series. Details can be found on the Practitioner page.

Perspectives logo

'Perspectives' are book-sized publications that go into considerable detail. The series began in 2002 and the first two publications are concerned with aspects of environmental impact assessment.

'Guidelines for Landscape & Visual Impact Assessment' was published with the Landscape Institute. It provides assistance in predicting and judging the significance of the effects that new development may have upon landscape character and visual amenity.

'Guidelines on Participation in Environmental Decision-making' was the second Perspectives publication in 2002, and its purpose is to improve participation by demonstrating its importance, offering advice on how to achieve effective participation, providing practical examples of what has been achieved, and by providing inspiration and the information to 'do-it-yourself'.
