As part of the development of the SiLC Registration scheme, members of the SiLC Professional and Technical Panel and Asessors Panel, are hosting a training day to provide information about the SiLC assessment process and the completion and use of the Land Condition Record on which the scheme is based. The training day is open to all those who are considering applying to become a SiLC.

The day will run as follows:
Introduction: Trainers and Delegates (9.45 - 10.00)

A brief overview of SiLC - (10.00 to 10.30 am)
The Written Assessments:
LCR Question Paper
Individual Written Assessment: Individual experience of SiLC Criteria
Peer Interview: SiLC Criteria, areas to research
The Land Condition Record (LCR) - (10.30 - 11.15 am)
What is the aim of the LCR - concept and design basis
How the LCR fits into practice - interpreting the LCR & giving further advice
Coffee (11.15 - 11.30 am)
The LCR Continued - (11.30 - 12.50)
Completing different sections of the LCR - following the rules, dealing with gaps and conflicting information
Introduction to after lunch session (12.50 - 1.00 pm)
LUNCH (1.00 - 2.00 pm)
Practical examples - breaking into two or three groups to work through a completed LCR (2.00 - 3.00 pm)
COFFEE (3.00 - 3.15 pm) and continue group work (3.15 - 4.00 pm)
Feedback and brief run through answer document (4.00 - 4.30 pm)
