RSS Feeds

The IEMA web-site uses RSS feeds in a number of sections:

• News
• Jobs
• Reading Room

The RSS feeds can be used to deliver jobs or news direct to your desktop, through your browser or a desktop application. Third-party services can also be used to package the feeds into e-mails that are regularly sent to you.

Where are the RSS Feeds on the IEMA Web-site? 

Not all pages on the site have feeds. Those pages that do have feeds can be recognised in two ways:

1. The RSS icon is displayed on the page. Clicking the icon  will give you the URL for the feed.
2. If the page contains a feed, the RSS icon -  or - will appear in your browser, either in the address bar at the top  or the status bar at the bottom.

How to View The RSS Feed

Some common methods are listed below.

E-mail Notification

This method allows you to receive e-mail notifications when a feed changes. For instance, you can receive an e-mail when a new job comes up in your area, or a news item in a category that interests you is created. There are third-party web-based solutions that offer this service, such as:

• Bloglines - Create a personal Bloglines page loaded with the freshest news about the things you love.
• NewsGator - NewsGator's Online tracks it all and brings the web pages to you.

Web-base Aggregators

This method allows you to pull RSS feeds onto a single web-page that you can manage yourself.

• Yahoo - Build your own web pages with news and content from other sites.

PC-based News Readers

There are many news readers you can run from your PC or Macintosh. Some recommendations are listed below:
