This webinar is the second in a series of webinars by the IEMA Biodiversity and Natural Capital Network on nature and finance.

This webinar explores different options for BNG compensation from a range of different compensation providers, including a review of S106 and conservation covenant agreements. Attendees will understand how the provision of offsite units varies between counties and compensation providers with a range of different models for delivery described during the session.

We will hear from the developers of Welborne Garden Village in Hampshire who are using a decentralized heat network to both heat and cool the development. Using a mix of ground and water source heat from the local Portsmouth Water reservoir, with heat pumps in each dwelling, the network will be able to provide both heating in winter and ambient, ie minimal energy, cooling in summer.

The proposed EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive introduces significant new due diligence obligations for EU firms, with requirements that stretch into subsidiaries and supply chains beyond the boundaries of European Union Member States.

In this webinar, IEMA Fellow Simon Colvin, a partner with the law firm Weightmans and his colleague Nick Barker, will outline the proposed obligations and preparations that companies will need to make, including in obligated supply chains, to meet the new rules.
