This webinar celebrates the launch of IEMA’s Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) guide – Delivering Quality Development – which focusses on how the assessment process can be set up to ensure effective delivery environmental design and mitigation post-consent. This new guide is a sister document to our EIA Guide to: Shaping Quality Development, which launched in November 2015.
To maximise value, the webinar features presentations on both guides, demonstrating how EIA can be used to enhance consideration of environment - from the design process within pre-application, all the way through to delivery of effective mitigation by a contractor during construction.
The webinar starts with a refresher on Shaping Quality Development’s advice from co-author Maeve McElvaney (LDA Design). This is followed by the launch of IEMA’s Guide to Delivering Quality Development, presented by the project lead Andy Ricketts (WSP – Parsons Brinkerhoff). Andy will introduce the new guide, explaining its scope, principles and framework for delivery in practice, including tips on how to work effectively with contractors.
