An environmental consultancy, specialising in landscape architecture, arboriculture and ecology, are currently looking for an experienced ecologist to join their new office in Shrewsbury.
Working on long term contracts, you will be meeting and advising clients within the public and private sector, providing a full range of ecology services including Phase 1 surveys. Your responsibilities include:
• Financial management of projects
• Tracking planning legislation and policy changes
• Assisting in the production of tenders and reports
You will ideally have a degree (or equivalent) in Ecology or a related field and will possess a Great Crested Newt Licence. A Natural England bat license would be highly desirable but not essential. You will also have:
• Strong experience and expertise in either botany and/or ornithology
• Experience in European Protected Species Licensing for development
• A working knowledge of ecological legislation and UK planning and policy
• Strong Commercial awareness, with a proven track record in managing budgets and dealing with clients
