Our client is a market leader in the field of contaminated land and waste management. They serve major property development companies, banks, lending institutions, waste management and quarrying businesses. Due to expansion they have an excellent opportunity for a Waste Development Planner to join them in their busy Warrington office.
The suitable candidate will have a minimum of a BSc in a related field along with extensive experience of waste management and providing waste planning advice within consultancy or local government along with knowledge and experience of EIA's.
Other duties will include preparing planning applications and technical assessments, and provide technical expertise for planning applications, IPPC permit applications, environmental impact assessments, screening and scoping studies. It's an active and mobile role that involves walkover surveys, planning appraisals and environmental audits at a range of sites.
The successful candidates responsibilities will include;
The preparation of minerals and waste related planning applications (including variations to planning conditions, reserved matters and Environmental Impact Assessments).
· Liaison with statutory and non-statutory consulters, briefing and co-ordination of sub consultants where necessary and the creation and management of project teams as necessary comprising internal and external consultants.
· The preparation of Waste Management Licence / PPC Permit applications (including variations, transfers and surrenders) including liaison with relevant consultees in particular the Environment Agency.
· To provide the company and its clients advice and support in respect of all planning related matters. (Policy, procedures and planning application appraisals).
· To assist in the identification and development of business opportunities relating to planning, licensing, PPC and property activities from a consulting and/or investment perspective.
· To assist the Development Director in other aspects of Business Development including tender bids, marketing and client relationship management.
· To maintain a database of current legislation and guidance documents relating to all aspects of planning (Structure, County and Local Plans), waste management licensing, and property management and to keep colleges informed of any relevant development in these areas.
