Our client is a national leader in the interface between Waste Management and Health Risk Assessment and Management. They are looking to further grow and expand their capability in this area.
The client portfolio will be varied and will span over both the public and private sectors. The current workload includes providing advice on health and air quality issues associated with Europe’s largest PFI project and providing advice to the government on the health effects of alternate weekly collections. They are delivering expertise in this area to the UK`s leading commercial waste management companies and to waste dispoal authorities throught the country.
The successful applicant will contribute towards growth and an increased profile within the area of management of health effects of waste management. Responsibilities within this role will include:
· Support project managers with projects relating to waste planning / permitting
· Contribute to identifying new market opportunities
· Support business development activities
· Deliver technical solutions to meet business and client expectations
· Maintain and develop core technical expertise and continue to increase technical breadth
Key skills / experience sought:
· Previous experience already gained addressing the health effects of waste management, or
· Knowledge / experience of working in the waste management industry with an interest in specialising in the health effects of waste management
· All applicants will be required to demonstrate a genuine interest in the interface between health and environmental assessment
· Strong report writing skills
· A current driving licence is essential
· A Masters degree or PhD in a technical subject relevant to waste management and health (eg. chemistry, medicine, environmental science, geography, geology, physics)
Your background may include experience in the waste industry, consultancy, waste planning/regulation, academia or NGO.
