Job Description
As demand for energy related environmental services increases, Atkins' Environmental Sustainability business is seeking to grow its energy consultancy team. We are looking for a Senior/Principal Environmental Consultant with the relevant amount of experience in environmental aspects of power generation (preferably covering both conventional and renewables, but with an emphasis on conventional power generation) including production of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), Section 36 applications and Pollution Prevention and Control (PPC) applications, and environmental consenting.

Requirements
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent) and preferably holding a masters degree in an environment-related subject
- Experience of EIAs and consent processes for major energy companies
- It will be an advantage if you have experience of environmental consenting for wind generation
- A successful track record in writing proposals, securing commissions and managing projects
- Experience of strong business growth and team leadership
- It will be an advantage if you are a member of an appropriate professional institute

Responsibilities
We are looking for an experienced consultant to lead our team addressing environmental aspects of power generation. You would be based in Glasgow. The person appointed would report to the Head of Scottish Projects and would work to develop a range of projects addressing environmental aspects of energy developments. Key areas of business within the team include:
- EIAs for conventional power projects;
- EIAs for renewables projects;
- Section 36 applications;
- PPC applications;
- Best Available Techniques (BAT) assessments;
- Environmental Due Diligence audits.
