My client has a long history of providing objective, expert advice on ecological matters. They have over thirty ecological consultants based in seven offices across the UK. Thier skills cover the full range of ecological disciplines, encompassing freshwater, marine and terrestrial habitats. Thier clients include developers, government organisations and conservation agencies. Most of thier consultants are full or associate members of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM).

This is an exciting opportunity, you will contribute in developing Ecology Team with ambitious plans for future significant growth.

About You

You should hold a degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, have considerable experience of working within a consultancy as an ecologist and be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of consultancies within the commercial sector.

In addition, candidates should be competent in extended Phase I Habitat Survey and plant identification (ideally to NVC level), and be a member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (IEEM).

  • Experience in the following would also be beneficial:
  • Protected Species Licence Holder
  • River Corridor Surveys/Accredited River Habitat Surveyor
  • Environmental Impact Assessment/Appropriate Assessments/Environmental Statements
  • Phase II Habitat/National Vegetation Classification (NVC)
  • Assessment methodologies: DMRB, WebTag, IEEM, EcIA, etc.
