Detailed Description

This respected consultancy has a requirement for Ecologist.

Ideally, you have the following attributes:

  • Degree in ecological or related subject (e.g. biology etc).
  • Extensive consultancy (or other similar) experience, including, pricing, tenders, client facing etc.
  • Experience of engineering principles / projects i.e. the ability to talk to engineers / designers about their projects and knowledge of highway related scheme - knowledge of TREBAP would be very preferable.
  • Experience of a wide range of ecological issues, particularly those relating to protected species and have at least one license (preferably bats or great crested newts).
  • Experience of wider environmental assessment (EIA, AA, etc)
  • Good botanical skills (preferably to NVC level)
  • Preferably one specialist skill as well (bats hopefully).
  • Specific development site skills (confined spaces etc)
  • Be able to demonstrate good knowledge of relevant legislation
  • Experience of staff, budget, project management, business development.
  • Be pragmatic but also strong in convictions.
  • Not be too crusading (bunny hugging) about wildlife and ecology.
  • Be amiable as well as presentable (site means no suit).
  • Be able to present knowledge in a manner appropriate to scenario.
