Detailed Description

Applicants should conform broadly to the competence criteria for CDM Co-ordinators set out in Appendix 5 of the Approved Code of Practice to the CDM Regulations 2007. Formal qualifications and/or membership of an appropriate body are requirements as is experience of the construction industry.

Ideal applicants will be conversant with the CDM Regulations 2007 and experienced in their application to the construction of buildings. Knowledge of The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 and the risks associated with asbestos in the construction industry is essential.

Candidates will also be conversant with risks associated with the design and construction of medium sized buildings such as schools and other typical Local Authority buildings. Experience in other forms of construction would be helpful but is not initially essential – immediate duties will centre on a contract with North Yorkshire County Council but future diversification is quite likely.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to the design process regarding health & safety matters. Attendance at design team meetings and site meetings will be a requirement.

Duties may include the compilation of pre-construction information, the preparation of Health & Safety Files, incident investigation and reporting, site safety audits and general health & safety advice to designers and other colleagues.

This is an excellent opportunity to join this well respected company, on offer will be a salary and package that you would expect from a company of this stature.
