Our client is a well-established consultancy offering a full range of landscape, architectural, masterplanning, environmental and planning related disciplines. Due to continued success and rapid expansion, the Landscape team require an experienced Landscape Architect to fill a vacancy in their Edinburgh office.
Supported by a strong, dynamic team of multi-disciplined staff, the Practice currently operates across the UK and Ireland working on a range of high profile design and masterplanning projects.
The position will include the following duties:
· Travel to project sites carrying out or assisting with landscape survey work and carry out analysis and presentation of the survey information, including preparing and developing the in-house graphics and text style for Concept Design Statements
· To provide design advice and guidance at all stages of the design process from outline plans, to tender and working drawings. This includes dealing with EIA work, planning applications and development proposals
· Assist / lead in the preparation of site masterplanning, garden / urban designs and detailed hard and soft landscape design strategies
· Contribute landscape input to the wider in-house team of architects and planners for a variety of projects to enable schemes to be delivered on time and on budget
· Prepare Landscape and Visual Impact Assessments for EIA reports and understand the EIA process
· Create and generate creative new ideas / concepts / graphics for the team
· To attend and participate confidently and effectively at landscape and design team meetings
Key skills, experience & qualifications sought:
· Extensive experience in posts involving significant landscape and urban design issues and work
· Ability to initiate and develop landscape and urban design based projects
· Design flare
· Good analytical skills as applied to the assessment of existing landscapes and to proposed developments
· Strong graphic representation skills (manual and computer)
· Good written, oral and interpersonal communication skills;
· Computer literacy including the use of AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office and other graphics applications
· 1st degree / Diploma in Landscape Architecture or related subject
· Member of the Landscape Institute
· Preferably Part IV qualified / working towards Part IV
