This company specialises in geotechnical and environmental site investigation and consultancy. They currently have a vacancy for Senior Geotechnical Engineers to be based in their Preston office and their Durham office.
The position involves liaising with contract staff in the various offices and with Clients, supervising and mentoring junior staff, to enable the group to provide a comprehensive “one-stop-shop” for all ground investigation, geotechnical and environmental needs from planning stage to completion of the final constructed product.
You can expect a diverse range of projects from across the UK and will be able to follow projects through to completion. They have a relaxed working environment and are currently looking to expand their premises. This is a prestigious position as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer within a long established company with an excellent reputation within the industry.
The ideal candidate will have the following:-
· A degree in Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, Geology or related subjects and preferably a relevant Masters degree.
· Have Chartered status or be close to Chartered status.
· A minimum of 5 years experience in geotechnical investigation, design, consultancy and report writing, covering a wide range of projects.
· Essential extensive experience of geotechnical report writing and design including foundations, piling, vibroflotation and dynamic compaction etc.
· Slope stability, retaining wall and earthworks assessment, analysis and design.
· Geological and mining investigation, assessment and design.
· Desirable experience of environmental issues including phase 1, 2 and 3 investigations and risk assessments, options appraisal, design of remedial measures and validation of contaminated land, landfill gas etc.
