How to register

Organisations wanting to participate must follow a number of steps. Simply put, these are:

1. Implement an EMS that meets the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001
2. Undertake internal audits, including checks on legal compliance and environmental performance improvement
3. Prepare an Environmental Statement
4. Have the Policy, EMS and Environmental Statement independently validated by an EMAS accredited verifier
5. Submit the application to the EMAS Competent Body using the application form which can be downloaded from the Guidance section of this website.
6. Make publicly available your environmental statement and promote your environmental credentials You will then be entered onto the EMAS register.
