In recent years the environment has shot up the political agenda, global issues such as climate change are forcing us all to consider the environment alongside the economy. One of the biggest challenges we face is figuring out how to align and resolve the two in a way that respects environmental limits, improves social standards and continues to deliver economic growth. The IEMA Conference 2008 will give delegates the opportunity to explore these issues.
This year the conference will be held at Bournemouth International Centre on the 4th and 5th of June. With stimulating speakers and a wide range of dynamic and informative workshops the conference is a must attend event for environmental and sustainability practitioners. This year there is a choice of 30 workshops and to help you tailor the conference to suit your needs and interests each workshop has been categorised as practitioner level, skills development or a round table discussion. Please note that delegates intending to participate in the round table discussions must be experienced practitioners and willing to contribute to the discussions and debates taking place.
The event will provide delegates with excellent opportunities to network with fellow professionals and to gain vital professional contacts. In addition to the plenary speeches and workshop programme the conference includes an exhibition, lunch time seminar programme, membership surgery sessions, a poster session illustrating good practice case studies and latest research, and book-able meeting tables.
An Annual Dinner ticket is included in the conference delegate package which this year features the BSI British Standards 14001 Awards and an after dinner speech by Dr Iain Stewart from the BBC series ‘Journeys from the centre of the Earth'.
