Chartered Environmentalist

IEMA members have the opportunity to apply for Chartered Environmentalist, or make a dual application for both Full Membership and Chartered Environmentalist.

IEMA is committed to the professional development of its members and as such has worked hard over the past few years with other Institutes, as members of Society for the Environment (SocEnv), in the development of the Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) qualification.

Chartered Environmentalist

IEMA is one of 23 professional bodies licensed by the Society for the Environment (SocEnv) to award the Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) Qualification. The qualification (CEnv) denotes sound knowledge, proven experience and a profound commitment to sustainable best practice within their particular profession and field of expertise.

IEMA offers individuals the opportunity to apply for CEnv or to make a dual application for Full Membership and CEnv as part of one application. For further details please see the Full Membership & Chartered Environmentalist Application Pack.

Chartered Environmentalist is Changing

Society for the Environment have made changes to Chartered Environmentalist. The purpose of the changes is to ensure environment is at the heart of the professional qualification and to ensure that eligibility requirements comply with age discrimination legislation. A copy of the revised competencies can be found here CEnv Revised Competencies

Changes are to be implemented by IEMA and other Licensed bodies over the next 8 months. For the latest information and to understand what this means for you if you are working towards CEnv please see the Chartered Environmentalist Application Pack.

If you are already a CEnv, don’t worry, your status as a CEnv is not affected by the change.
