Associate membership is the first professional level of IEMA membership, and is recognised internationally.
Associate membership is the essential professional status for anyone who is working in an environmental role or has responsibility for environmental issues. In organisations, it’s essential to have a person with the knowledge and skills that being an Associate member of IEMA demonstrates.
The standard for IEMA Associate membership is high, underpinning its credibility in the market place. This professional qualification covers a broad range of topics to ensure a solid foundation for environmental professionals to build upon. The Standard for Associate membership details what you need to know to become an Associate member.
Reasons for you to become an Associate member of IEMA
- Employers require Associate membership – it’s a pre-requisite for securing an environmental job role.
- It’s essential for your career development – it’s the foundation for you to advance and progress through your environmental career.
- Associate membership enables you to demonstrate to colleagues, clients, employers, potential employers and others that you have a broad ranging environmental knowledge and understanding. In addition, that this knowledge and understanding has been assessed by an independent organisation, the environmental professional body – IEMA.
- Associate members are entitled to use the suffix AIEMA – this enables you to communicate this recognition.
